Kia ora!
My name is Irana and I'm 27 years old, I graduated from Toi-Ohomai with my teaching degree in April 2019.
A little bit about myself, I am the eldest child of seven younger siblings.
I live here in Rotorua and love to enjoy the lakes and many other beautiful spots that it has to offer.
My teaching philosophy is ever changing as I learn and develop my practice but the main aspects of my philosophy are kaupapa Māori. Manaakitanga and Whanaungatanga are the main values that guide my practice as they allow me to acknowledge and nourish tamariki with a holistic perspective, by understanding that they are themselves, as well as their whānau and tipuna with inherited strengths, beliefs and knowledge. In recognising this I respect and support each tamaiti to learn in their own way and time, acknowledging their uniqueness and supporting them to explore and make sense of the world around them through the relationships I develop and maintain with them and their whānau.
I look forward to grow alongside your tamariki here and am excited for the future of Atawhai!
