Kia Ora e te Whānau,
I am grateful to be given the opportunity to be apart of the Atawhai Whānau.
I have been working in the Early Childhood industry for 15 years. I enjoy watching the joy on tamāriki faces as they develop and learn something new. What other job can you play in the sand all day or jump in puddles and have messy play. I believe every tamāriki brings with them their own knowledge and skills, it is our job to help them develop and grow with these skills to make them authentic capable learners.
In my own time I love spending time with my Whānau, walking through the redwoods, or yelling at a Panthers game (My favourite Rugby league team)
Two quotes that inspire my teaching practice
“Shoot for the moon, even if you fall, you’ll land among the stars”
“Education is the most powerful weapon, which you can use to change the world”
